Busy Day Again

For the second morning I slept in and Adrian took the kids to school. Pete has been sick so he’s been hanging out with me all day. That sounds fun but because of work he’s mostly watching movies and playing games all day. He did draw me a picture of what he said is my absolute favorite thing- triangles. So cute. He also said his popcorn tasted like shigarettes. What does he know about shigarettes? Haha.

I have a full plate and a full heart. I love to see the chickens hanging out in the grass when I run back and forth from the house to the office. We’re working on so many things right now, it’s a pivotal point for Guest Equity and I’m excited to see us burst out the other side stronger and more stable.

Perfecta came today and cleaned the house. I’m so thankful. Ava started decorating for Christmas so we have a mix of snowmen and pumpkins going on.

The muscle spasms in my neck are getting better. I had an X-ray last week and the doc called today to tell me my spine looks good, so I can try a chiropractor or a deep tissue massage to get rid of them completely. Both sound wonderful. I need to make it a point to schedule them.

The duplex is almost done. I met my friend Alexis there today, she’ll be renting the two bedroom unit. She loved it! Hopefully she can move in before Thanksgiving, which is a little more than a week away.

The kids and I sang Mele keliki maka all the way home from school.

Dec. 1 is fast approaching, which is our deadline for our entire software shift and jump to VRBO and direct booking at Guest Equity! Ah! It feels like so far away and tomorrow at the same time. These are big wins and seemed impossible or not even a thought when we first started the business. I’m excited to see where five more years take us.

The kids had music lessons. They’ve come so far in such a short amount of time. I’m so proud of them! While they were at lessons Pete and I ran to lowes to pick up some things for Shaver tomorrow. I may keep Ava home from school so she can be my assistant. She’s hoping for that.

I made flyers to put up in Shaver for a new position we’re creating that’s an “inspector”. If we can find someone local to go turn on the heater and shovel a little snow out of the walkway before guests arrive, that would be amazing. I’m also going to do a little photography while I’m there for content and listing pictures for winter.

The Recital

The kids had their first music recital tonight. They’ve been taking lessons for a little over two months now and I wasn’t sure they should even do the recital. I figured they needed more practice, even that they might be embarrassed performing alongside other kids who had been doing it longer. Dummy me. Don’t I know comparison is the theif of joy and success? It was a reminder of how far I still need to go to overcome my own fears and insecurities. Of course- They did amazing. I was equal parts proud of their courage to get up on the stage in front of a full house (the show was sold out!), and their stellar performances. I’m so glad we found Eager studios and the kids started this music journey. It’s encouraging, wholesome, and teaches the kids (and me) so many valuable lessons.

After the recital we went to Braised for Alec’s birthday dinner. He’s going to be 16 next week. He wants a Jeep, but Pete wants to get him a bow and arrow, drone, a race car, a speeding car, or a semi truck. He also wanted to get a lawn mower for Alec’s step-dad. He cracks me up.

AVA Vaulting Championship Las Vegas

Ava and I flew to Las Vegas for her vaulting competition on Friday night, and here we are Sunday night at the airport waiting for our flight to take off.

Saturday Ava woke up feeling sick, but she was a trooper and competed in both her classes. She was the only one in her class, so by default, she got first place, but she still did her very best and I was very proud of her. She did one fun class today, a double with her friend Charlotte, and they did very well on that too. They were dressed up like genies from Aladdin and it was just really cute and fun.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) we didn’t have the energy to go check out the strip, so instead we hung out at the hotel watching HGTV, eating snacks, and falling asleep early. It was actually a really dreamy weekend except for being sick. But I can’t wait to get home!

We’re flying into Fresno, can’t wait to see my boys and hear all about the Jack-o-Lantern jubilee they went to on Saturday night. 🙂

The Well

Adrian went with me to drop off the kids at school. We had a meeting for the coffee shop this morning, which means we met with Anthony, Danielle, and baby Ellie. It was the best kind of meeting. I made soft boiled eggs and chicken apple sausage and we talked about the budget, goals, and expectations. I think overall it was a good meeting, mostly just to make sure we’re all still ok the same page.

Work. Pick the kids up from school. Horse riding lessons, and I brought the boys and they had a blast playing with the other kids there. Pete and Paisley made mud puddles and Jack hung out on the swing, climbing on the car, and sitting high on the fence.

I started back at the Gym last week. I love Blueprint and I’m almost motivated to start back on the diet plan. Every time I work out I get pretty sore, I’m really out of shape after surgery, so I’ve been getting back into it slowly. Adrian and I have been loosely talking about babies again, but I’ve been doing so much to get my body back into shape that I’m reluctant to stretch it out again. Although I do feel like Jesus has a baby girl for me.

Adrian had a late baseball game so the kids and I picked up The Habit and some Starbucks and ate dinner in the car, then chores and bath and in bed early! Feels good to get to bed early.

My first really big staging job started today. The client paid half the estimate, which is $13,500!!!! Here we go! I’m so excited and really feel so accomplished. I hope the final product is better than he imagined.

Best Day

After work, Ava and I went to her horse lesson. I hung out with baby Jake and Paisley while we were there and Ava had a great lesson practicing barrels. While we were there, Adrian sent a video of the boys riding bikes in the front yard, and when we got home they were playing a card game called exploding kittens. Then, Adrian took them outside to swing on the swing set and it turned into a competition of who could jump off the swing the farthest. Pete won highest jump and Jack won longest jump. They were both ecstatic. The whole time, the dogs were just laying in the grass nearby and the sun was setting over the cotton field in the background. It was like a movie scene. We ate hamburgers and watched a movie until bedtime. I finally finished knitting Pete’s blankie. It’s far from perfect but he loves it.

Womens Night

I got up early again to work out, powered totally by Jesus. I’m so sore but very excited to be in better shape.

Today I met with my Bible study group, which we call Pack. We’re going through parables and talked a lot about heaven and hell today, and why bad things happen to good people. It’s a safe place to discuss these things and it helps me feel more prepared to talk to others about it.

I met Adrian for lunch at Fugazzis before coming home to work for about an hour and rushing off to pick up the kids.

I had Womens Night at church, which was lovely. We worshiped and prayed, ate good food, and listened to a speaker. I’m going to make an effort to get rid of things that are getting in the way of focusing on the lord, listen to Jesus, and ask more questions. It’s good.

Blueprint

Monday I started back at Blueprint. It’s half boxing half HIIT. It’s the only workout I’ve ever “enjoyed” really. I’m glad to be back into it after surgery. The first day kicked my butt. I’m going back tomorrow even though I’m still pretty sore. Hoping to get into better shape. 🙂

Today I had quite a few leads come in. Our company is growing. It used to be that we only had clients we knew or were friends of friends, and that definitely isn’t so anymore. I’m so proud of this little company.

Our building was mentioned at the City Council meeting tonight. Exciting.

A couple things stand out to be bright spots in my day.

Before school, the boys were out playing on the swing set. It was nice to see them playing outside before school, and also playing together. The swing set is shaping up to be a great buy.

We met the future tenants, engineers, and contractor at the building downtown this morning to go over some options. It was great to see the project and get everyone’s ideas.

Patty and I used Adrian’s office downtown to record some video for Guest Equity’s social media. I’m less and less nervous each time we do it, so it’s going much faster now. We got some iced coffee before heading home.
